Big Pig Bike Festival 2016

The Big Pig Mountain Biking Festival is locked in for August 12-14, 2016

Well Big Pig 2016 is officially all wrapped up, and what a great weekend! From the kids races friday night, Saturdays intense final run of Dante's Inferno and the always fun Wilbur's Wheelay, Sunday's thrilling downhill race (with a new course record set) to the action packed 4 Cross races to cap off the weekend. We saw sun, fun and of course lots and lots of biking.

Huge thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, riders and friends and families that make the Big Pig Mountain Biking Festival such a great weekend event each year. See you all next year!

DH results can be found here:

Come one, come all!!! It really doesn't matter how old you are, what your style of riding, or how serious you are about mountain biking, the Big Pig is a friendly fun weekend of fat tire festivities.

Fun for the whole family starts with registration Friday night, kids races, along with shuttle rides and an early look at the courses. What is "Dante's Inferno"?

This is a cross-country endurance race 100 km in length. It started in 2008 as a friendly 20 km race that has increased in length by 10 km per year, to culminate in this year’s gruelling 100 km event. The course is 10 km in length, with a check-in at the Kager Lake parking lot. Riders are required to dismount, have their punch-card updated, and ride on! For most riders, the race will take between 5 and 8 hours to complete the full 100 km. Riders can complete one lap, multiple laps or try for all 10!

What is the "Burnt Bike Challenge (BBC)"?

Last year BLMBA added a cross-country "taste-tester" for mountain bikers with a "discriminating palette." This "ultimate 30 km loop" begins by climbing up Razorback, an 18 km all-mountain trail, before "rewarding" you with thrilling descents and even more climbs. Guaranteed to satisfy!

What is "Dante's Enduro"

For the truly masochistic, this event if for you! Combining the inferno loops and the BBC, you begin at 7:00 a.m. with the Dante's Inferno riders and do however many laps of the 10 km loop as you can before 11:00 a.m AND THEN race the BBC! Finish off any remaining laps to complete the full 100 km. Strangely, a mental health assessment is NOT necessary before registration!

What is the “WILBUR’S WHEELAY”?

This is a cross-country race, with an emphasis on fun! Teams of all ages are encouraged to participate. There is no limit to the number of team members that ride the 5 km race course. The winning team rides the most loops (in the shortest time) in the 3 hour time limit wins!

Awards & Prizes to follow

Current BLMBA members are eligible for a $10 discount on their registration.

Friday evening kids events are $20 for any combination or all three races.

Saturday and Sunday events are $45 for a single race, $65 for two or more races.

If you are only racing Wilbur's Wheelay and no other races, the fee is $20.
